Torrevieja

Torrevieja is a busy, bustling town that has a lively atmosphere all year round, day and night. The two harbours offer a relaxing atmosphere where you can sit back and unwind or take the boat to Tabarca Island. The promenade and 1.6km marina promenade are both excellent places to stretch your legs or burn off the ice cream! There are two major beaches either side of the marinas which get very busy during the summer. The day and night market along the sea front means that there is always something to do and the funfair provides more entertainment during the summer evenings. Try the tourist train to find out about the history of Torrevieja or visit the Tourist Office for information about its museums.
The Habaneras is a modern open air 3 story shopping mall which includes all the usual shops such as Zara, H&M, C&A, Gerry Weber, Pull and Bear and Mango. There are cafes on the top floor giving stunning views towards the mountains and the setting sun. It is normally open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm. The Ozone Complex is situated behind the Habaneras and offers great fun for the whole family. There is a Ten Pin Bowling Alley with arcade games and pool tables, Crazy Golf and a Mediterraneo Casino. There are many ‘fast food’ type restaurants in and around both the Habaneras and Ozone.
There are two water parks in Torrevieja. The Aquopolis is ideal for teenagers, whilst the Flamingo Park is great for young children under the age of ten. Both are open during the summer months only and make for a fun packed day out.

Things to do in Torrevieja
- Spend a Friday morning in the hustle and bustle of the street market and then relax in either one of Torrevieja’s two marinas for a bit of peace and tranquility beside the water.
- Visit anyone of Torreviejas museums like the sea and salt museum or the Ricardo Lafuente (writer of numerous Habaneras songs) museum, take time to wander along the Ramon Gallud with its shops and boutiques and admire the stunning Church of La Inmaculata Conception, then head for the beach and indulge in a well deserved cerveza or vino and tapas.
- In the height of summer have a relaxing day at the beach, and once the sun has set enjoy a fun filled night at the funfair or saunter around the night market admiring the stalls and soaking up the atmosphere along the busy seafront promenade.
- Take a boat across to the tiny Island of Tabarca, have a snorkel or simply amble around the island (restaurants are expensive so a packed lunch is best). Once back on dry land treat yourselves to a meal at any of the restaurants that overlook the promenade or marinas.
- Spend an action packed fun filled day at either of the two water parks, then shop till you drop at the Habaneras shopping mall or continue with the action at the Ozone bowling complex and if you still have enough energy finish up at the Mediterraneo Casino.
Ideas of places to twin Torrevieja with day or night
- There is so much to see and do in the town of Torrevieja that it is best to spend a whole day, or two there!
- The night market along the promenade always makes a good end to any day, in summer there are many stalls which stay open until the small hours, in winter there are less stalls and they tend to shut by 20.00.
