Formentera
Formentera is a pretty, Spanish village with a traditional church square and a small selection of bars, cafes and shops. The Rio Segura runs past the village and adds to its charm.

Ideas of places to twin Formentera with day or night
- Start off your day with a walk or cycle along the banks of the Rio Segura to soak up a bit of rural Spain and work up an appetite. Reward yourself at the end of your day with a cerveza or vino and tapas in one of the bars or cafes in Formentera village.
- Have a day exploring!! Twin Formentera with anyone of a number of surrounding places like Dolores, Catral or to get a true feel of what rural Spanish life is all about, why not try to take in a street market at the same time.

Formentera Rio Segura Walking Cycling Route
N38°05.005 W0°44.805Parking: is in the road and is free. To access the path go straight on towards the mountain, cross the bridge over the river and then turn right towards the mountain for Algorfa, Benejuzar and Orihuela and left for Rojales and Guardamar Marina.
From here: walk or cycle along beside the river. This route can be done as one long journey from Guardamar to Orihuela or you can use the villages as starting/stopping points.
Top tip: go with friends and two cars, leave one car in the village where you want to finish and one at the start!!
Formentera Village Centre

From here: walk towards the church square which is the heart of the village.
Top tip: the river which has a lovely path alongside it is just a few streets away. Exit the square at the opposite side to the church and just keep walking in the same direction, the river is right ahead of you.
