Apse La Jira
Every year the town of Apse celebrates La Jira on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday. This year the fiesta will be held on the Thursday 16th February 2012. Click on Read More for all the information.
The Aspe residents form groups or associations which include people of all ages known as Jiras. At 09:30 each Jira, dressed in their own distinctive costume, parade throught the streets of the old town to meet at 10:00 in the Plaza Mayor. They then take it in turns to give a musical preformanace by playing a song that has to be original. the festivities last all day!
