Alicante Carnival

The city of Alicante is putting on a big show for the Carnival. On the evening of Friday the 17th February there will be the 'Courtship of Momo' the god of satire and mockery in Greek mythology. The Children's Carnival will take place on Saturday 18th and the adult procession on Tuesday 21st. The fiesta will end with the Burning of the Sardine on Wednesday 22nd. Friday 17th February 2012
22:30 Correfoc from the Plaza Palmeretes to the Plaza 25 de Mayo.
23:00 Courtship of Momo from the Calderón de la Barca, Tomás López Torregrosa, Duque de Zaragoza, Bailén, Portal d'Elx, Mayor, Muñoz, Labradores, Santo Tomás, Rambla finishing in the Plaza. San Cristóbal.

Saturday 18th February
17:30 Children's Carnival Parade from la Plaza de Toros, Calderón de la Barca, Alfonso El Sabio, Av. Constitución, C/ Bailén, San Ildefonso finishing on the Rambla.

Tuesday 21st February
21:00 Pelele Procession from Plaza San Cristóbal, Santos Médicos, Cienfuegos, Plaza del Carmen, Virgen de Belén, Plaza de Quijano, Maldonado, Villavieja, Lonja de Caballeros, Las Monjas y San  Agustín, to the Plaza de la Santa Faz, where they 'dip the Pelele' then along Calle Mayor and Calle Labradores to the Plaza de San Cristóbal.

Wednesday 22nd February
21:00 The Burning and Wake for the Sardine starting in the Plaza de San Cristóbal and continuing along C/ del Teatro, Navas, Gerona, Rambla, Mayor, Abad Penalva, Labradores, Argensola finishing in the Plaza del Carmen.
