The Prince of Asturias, Don Felipe de Borbon, will be closing the 475th anniversary celebrations of the Spanish Mariners in Cartagena this week.

On Tuesday the 28th February at 12 noon there will be military parade and commemorative service on the Alfonso XII promenade in front of the memorial to fallen Mariners. Also the war ship called Galicia will be in dock for members of the public to visit on Tuesday from 16:00 to 18:45. The Galicia's primary mission is to conduct amphibious operations, but also acts operations peacekeeping and humanitarian assistance in natural disasters through medical and surgical support.

There is also the 5th Tapas Route for you to enjoy. This year a record number of establishments have taken part, so make sure you visit some of the 67 bars, cafes and restaurants! Take a look at the Calendar of Events to find out more.

The photo of the week is of the rather stunning bull statue which has recently appeared on a roundabout in the Orihuela Costa. The roundabout is located on exit and entrance No768 for the AP7. It the junction before or after the La Zenia toll depending which way you are travelling!

The town of Redovan have just released this lovely short video clip about their Tapas Route!

You'll be able to enjoy a tapa and beer, wine or water for just 1.50€ in Redovan. The route will take place over three consecutive weekends of the 24th, 25th and 26th February the 2nd, 3rd and 4th March as well as the 9th, 10th and 11th March. There are 18 establishments which have signed up to the route, so make sure you collect your tapas passport and start sampling. You'll need at least 12 stamps to be in with the chance for a first price of 500€! The participating restaurants, cafes and bars are: Bar El Ancho , Cafeteria Harvester, Cafe Bar El Coto, Cafeteria Xacara, Bar Mari Jose, Cafe Bar Veroka, Restaurante O'Manuel, La Jijonenca, Cafe Bar Ker, Restaurante Vilella, Cafeteria Huellas, Rio Bravo, Restaurante La Paz, Bar Los Pinicos, Bar Redovan, Taperia Pacome andRestaurante Los Cuartos.

The inland town of Callosa de Segura which sits below the 513 meter high Callosa Mountain is hosting a Medieval Market this coming weekend. From the 24th to the 26th February 2012 the town will return to the middle ages. The event has been organised by the town hall and the Market Arlekin SL. There will be over 40 stalls all selling hand made goods and a childrens craft and games corner. There will also be various animals to look at and performance by puppeteers with giant dragons and musicians and bagpipers!

The medieval market will open 18:00-21:30 on Friday the 24th and from 11:00-21:30 on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th February 2012.
