Gran Alacant sits high on the cliffs overlooking the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. It is in a fantastic location just minutes south of the vibrant and fashionable city of Alicante and north of the traditional resort of Santa Pola.

  • Gran Alacant Beach

    From here: walk along the wooden walk ways over the sand dunes onto the beach.

  • Gran Alacant Beach Car Park

    From here: walk out of the car park area and turn left for the wooden walk ways that lead onto the beach.

    Top tip: the car park gets very busy during high season, so come early or take the tourist train from the centro comercial. 

  • Gran Alacant Commercial Centre Front Entrance

    Top tip: parking is limited here, so you can park at the Centro Comercial and take the tourist train (charges apply). To park right beside the lighthouse take the turning on the N332 between Gran Alacant and Santa Pola which is marked with the sign post that says El Faro Santa Pola . 

  • Gran Alacant Market Small Thursday Morning

  • Gran Alacant Promenade Arenal

    From here: walk along the promenade into Arenales del Sol where there are lots of shops, cafes and restauarants, or down onto the beach. 

  • Gran Alacant Tourist Train

    From here: this is one of the the 11 stops for the tourist train. It opperates during most of the year and is schedualled to leave here at 25 mins past the hour, tickets cost 2€ for one circuit. For more information about the route and timetable take a look at the official website.

  • Gran Alacant Viewpoint

    Parking: is on the side of the road and is free.

    From here: walk along the road to the turning circle and then follow any of the paths to the lighthouse. There are benches at both viewpoints eitherside of the lighthouse, but the best views of the Island of Tabarca are to be found at the viewpoint just past the lighthouse.

    Top tip: parking is limited here, so you can park at the Centro Comercial and take the tourist train (charges apply). 

  • Gran Alacant Village Centre

    Parking: is in the car park and is free.

    From here: the small parade of shops and resturants is opposite, the library, townhall and childrens playground are beside the car park. 

  • Santa Pola Scenic Drive Northern Point

    From here: this is the coordinate for the northern point in Gran Alacant of the coastal road which runs beside the sea underneath the cliffs from Santa Pola. 

    Top tip: it gets very busy especially during high season, so is sometimes best avoided in the summer.

  • Santa Pola Scenic Drive Southern Point

    From here: this is the coordinate for the southern point in Santa Pola of the coastal road which runs beside the sea underneath the cliffs from Gran Alacant.  

    Top tip: it gets very busy especially during high season, so is sometimes best avoided in the summer.

Guardamar del Segura

This popular town is renowned for its many kilometres of fine sandy beaches. It has a busy high street full of all kinds of shops as well as a popular market to keep even the most dedicated shoppers happy.

  • Guardamar del Segura Alfonso Park

    Parking: is on the road and free, it gets very busy in the summer, so you might have to park further away and walk or use the pay car park.

    From here: walk towards the entrance for the Alfonso Park which was created to stop the town from becoming buried in the sand. There are many paths through the park and it is great for a walk, cycle or picnic.

    Parking tip: if it is really busy try the pay car park, look at the town hall then walk down the road to the right of the building towards the sea, past the Reina Sofia Park, the entrance to the Alfonso Park is on the left.

    Top tip: you can walk through the Alfonso Park all the way to the marina and back along the beach.

  • Guardamar del Segura Beach North End

    Parking: is in the Marina and costs 1€ for however long you want to stay, insert coin on entrance and scan ticket on exit.

    From here: walk around the marina and exit through gate to north end of the beach, the pier and the Alfonso Park.

    Top tip: this is a great place to park during the height of the summer if you\'ve arrived too late at the beach to get parked in the town.

  • Guardamar del Segura Beach South End

    From here: walk down onto the beach, turn right for La Mata or left for centre of Guardamar and its promenade.

  • Guardamar del Segura Boat Trips

  • Guardamar del Segura Childrens Funfair

    From here: you'll easily spot the children's funfair which is here every night during the summer.

    Parking tip: if it is really busy try the pay car park, look at the town hall then walk down the road to the right of the building towards the sea, past the Reina Sofia Park the Funfair is on the right.

    Top tip: arrive early and have a picnic on the beach whilst the sunbathers are departing, then enjoy your evening knowing that you are already parked.

  • Guardamar del Segura Marina & Marina Promenade

    From here: walk around the marina, exit gate to take a stroll along the promenade out to sea to see the fishermen or along the beach to see the sand dunes or through the Alfonso Park.

  • Guardamar del Segura Market Large Wednesday Morning

    From here: walk uphill away from the sea towards the church the market stalls line the streets around this area.

  • Guardamar del Segura Night Market

    Parking: is on the road and free, it gets very busy in the evening, so you might have to park further away and walk or use the pay car park underground for the Town Centre.

    From here: you'll easily spot the night market which is here every night during the summer.

    Parking tip: if it is really busy try the pay car park, look at the town hall then walk down the road to the right of the building towards the sea, the stalls will be opposite the Reina Sofia Park on your left.

    Top tip: arrive early and have a picnic on the beach whilst the sunbathers are departing, then enjoy your evening knowing that you are already parked.

    From here: walk downhill towards the beach, turn left for start of promenade with its mix of bars, cafes and restaurants.

    Parking tip: if it is really busy try the pay car park, look at the town hall then walk down the road to the right of the building towards the sea, past the Reina Sofia and Alfonso Park to the T junction, turn left for start of promenade with its mix of bars, cafes and restaurants.

  • Guardamar del Segura Reina Sofia Park

    From here: walk towards the entrance for the Reina Sofia Park with its ponds full of terrapins and ducks, paths and floodlit children's play area, you might even be lucky enough to see a peacock!

    Parking tip: if it is really busy try the pay car park, look at the town hall then walk down the road to the right of the building towards the sea, the entrance to the Reina Sofia Park is on your right.

    Top tip: visit during the evening in the summer, it is open until midnight, and enjoy the close by night market and children's funfair, even have a stroll on the moonlit beach.

  • Guardamar del Segura Rio Segura Walking Cycling Route

    Parking: is in the Marina and costs 1€ for however long you want to stay, insert coin on entrance and scan ticket on exit. Or to miss out the 2 kilometres of pavement join the path at the towns entrance by the roundabout with the waterfall fountain on it that you pass to get to the marina. To find the path walk or cycle under the bridge keeping the river on your right.

    From here: walk or cycle along the banks of the Rio Segura (pavement for first 2 kilometres then it changes to hard ground). The path goes past Rojales, Formentera, Algorfa and Benejuzar and finishes 30 kilometres away in Orihuela. This route can be done as one long journey from Guardamar to Orihuela or you can use the villages as starting/stopping points.

    Top tip: go with friends and two cars, leave one car in the village where you want to finish and one at the start!!

  • Guardamar del Segura Tourist Office

    From here: walk into the Church square and locate the Tourist Office in the corner next to the Town Hall where you can find out more information about the Castle (ruin), Archaeology Museum, Engineer Mira Museum, the Moorish ruins in the Dunes which is only visitable on the Tourist Train.

  • Guardamar del Segura Tourist Train

    From here: walk into the Church square and locate the Tourist Office in the corner beside the Town Hall where you can book for the Tourist Train, it operates during the summer only.

    From here: walk into the Church square and turn left or right for the long high street on which all of the shops are located.

Torrevieja

The sea front is one of many places to visit in Torrevieja Spain

Torrevieja is a busy, bustling town that has a lively atmosphere all year round, day and night. The two harbours offer a relaxing atmosphere where you can sit back and unwind or take the boat to Tabarca Island. The promenade and 1.6km marina promenade are both excellent places to stretch your legs or burn off the ice cream! There are two major beaches either side of the marinas which get very busy during the summer. The day and night market along the sea front means that there is always something to do and the funfair provides more entertainment during the summer evenings.

    From here: the beach is about a 10 minute walk from here, exit pay car park 1 and turn right, continue along the promenade until you reach the beach known as Playa del Cura.

  • Torrevieja Beach South

    From here: the beach known as Playa del Acequion is straight in front of you!

    Parking tip: spaces maybe available in the pay car park 2 underground or in pay car park 3 beside the old marina. Exit either car park and walk towards the beach keeping the sea on your left hand side.

  • Torrevieja Boat Trips

    Parking: is in the pay car park 1 and is charged by the length of stay, keep your ticket and pay when you are ready to leave. Free parking is available on the roads around this area, but spaces are very hard to find.

    From here: make your way towards the boat warehouses beside the car park and opposite the submarine, the boats to Island of Tabarca depart from here.

    Top tip: The cruise lasts approximately 45 minutes and opperates daily from March to November. There is a notice board beside the boat that displays the most up-to-date time table. Return tickets cost 21€ for adults, 10€ for children aged 5 to 10 years and it is free for children under 5. The restaurants on the Island are very expensive, so it is best to pack a picnic.

    From here: exit the car park using the escalators, go up one floor to level 1 and walk away from the front of the mall, past all of the shops to the exit at the back, cross the street and continue past the restaurants, the Ozone complex is at the end and the bowling alley is hidden in the far left hand corner.

  • Torrevieja Funfair

  • Torrevieja Habaneras Shopping Mall

    From here: exit the car park using the escalators, you have now arrived in the three story shopping mall! The shops are normally open Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 22.00 and on a Sunday during the summer months.

  • Torrevieja Marina New

    From here: walk out of pay car park 1 where you drove in, continue past the start of the pier then turn left, the day and night market is directly in front of you. During the summer it gets going around midday and closes at midnight, in the winter there are a lot less stalls and it tends to be open from midday until early evening.

  • Torrevieja Market Large Friday Morning

    From here: follow the shopping trolleys to enter the large market.

    Top tip: this large market is held in the residential zone of the town, inland from the centre, so isn't a walkable distance from the sea!

  • Torrevieja Municipal Sports Centre

    From here: exit pay car park 1, the tourist train stop is located behind the day and night market near the 'wave waterfall' fountain, please ask at the tourist office for a timetable.

  • Torrevieja Town Centre

    From here: walk from pay car park 2 towards the buildings keeping the sea behind you, after about 300 metres you will reach the street called Ramon Gallud, this is the main high street of Torrevieja with the impressive church and its square to enjoy.

    Top tip: collect a free map from the tourist office, which is on the opposite side of the road to the day and night market where the road bends sharply.

  • Torrevieja Water Park Aquopolis
