Benejuzar town hall and square are one of many places to visit

Benejuzar is a small, compact and traditional village with two churches, one in the village around the square and another, rather grand one sitting on the hill standing guard over the village.

  • Benejuzar Rio Segura Walking Cycling Route

    Parking: is in the slip road on either side of the road beside the shops and apartments next to the entrance to the village. You will find the path starts on both sides of the bridge next to the roundabout. To go to Algorfa, Formentera, Rojales and Guardamar Marina you need to join the path to your right before crossing the bridge. For Orihuela town centre cross the bridge and the road to pick up the path on your left heading towards the mountain.

    From here: walk or cycle along beside the river. This route can be done as one long journey from Guardamar to Orihuela or you can use the villages as starting/stopping points.

    Top tip: go with friends and two cars, leave one car in the village where you want to finish and one at the start!!

  • Benejuzar Sanctuary

    Parking: is on the road and is free.

    From here: take a walk around this sanctuary (dedicated to Nuestra Senora del Pilar) and admire the stunning views across the valley to the Callosa de Segura mountain, a great place for a picnic or just to read a book.

  • Benejuzar Village Centre

    Parking: is on the road and is free.

    From here: this is the centre of the village with the church and the square, so just take a leisurely stroll and explore! A typical example of an inland village of this area.
