Saurines de la Torre Golf Course

Saurines de la Torre Golf Course is also known as Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort. The 18 hole, par 72 desert style course was designed by Jack Nicklaus, and contains many features that are very similar to his famous Las Vegas courses.  It has undulating fairways and an abundance of desert dunes. There is a very large lake along the shores of which, both holes 9 and 18 run, ensuring a thrilling end to any round of golf!

    From here: walk along the promenade to the Escuela Piragüismo (Kayaking school) large white building on the shores of the Mar Menor, opposite the Hotel Ribera. The wooden pier behind the kayaking school is where the B&F Ferry departs.

    Top tip: (info correct for 2010) A single ticket costs 4€ and a return is 8€ per person, it is free for all under fours! You can put a bicycle on the ferry for an additional 1€ each way. The ferry departs Santiago every 2 hours starting at 11.30 and finishing at 21.30. It departs La Manga every 2 hours starting at 10.30 and finishing at 20.30. In the summer (March-November) it goes every day of the week, but during the winter it does not operate on a Sunday. In the height of summer the operating hours are extended for another 4 hours at the end of the day, making the last ferry depart Santiago at 01.00! Sierra Cortina Golf Course

Sierra Cortina Pitch and Putt Golf Course Costa Blanca North Spain Benidorm

One of two pitch and putts in Benidorm this course is positioned on the outskirts of Benidorm , just off the AP7 motorway and next to the La Marina shopping mall. It is a short, traditional pitch and putt course. With 18 holes which are between 50 to 100 metres, it represents great value. Plus you don't have to be serious golfer, you can just turn up, pay and play.

  • Benidorm Old Town

    From here: from the car park walk back along the same road that you drove along to enter the car park, go straight on at the roundabout with the anchor on it and under the bridge to the Plaza de Hispanidad, then turn right to enter the streets of the old town and head uphill!

Las Rejas Golf Course

Las Rejas Golf Course Costa Blanca North Spain Benidorm

This lovely 9 hole par 3 pitch and putt course is situated near the beach of Poniente in Benidorm. A simple pay and play course, Las Rejas is really great for a no frills, easy going, family fun and friendly round of golf. The holes vary in distance form 80 to 120 metres, some have water hazards and you'll find a lot of mature trees surrounding the holes and fairways. There is a sweet little club house to enjoy a drink at.

La Sella Golf Resort is situated in the small hamlet of Jesus Pobre on the outskirts of Denia and is a challenge for any player. The 27 hole golf course was designed by José María Olazábal, double champion of the Masters. La Sella Golf has hosted many national team events, including the Peugeot Circuit. Its location right beside the Montgo Natural Park means that golfers enjoy not only stunning golf but also stunning views from every fairway.

    Top tip: the caves are open 09.00-18.00 during the winter and 09.00-20.00 during the summer, tickets cost 3.50€ per adult and 2€ per child. Javea Golf Course

Club de Golf Javea Costa Blanca North Golf Course Spain

Situated just inland from the seaside town of Javea, this golf club is well established having been open since 1981. The course has stunning views in every direction over the surrounding countryside of the Marina Alta area and it's mountains. The course is a par 72 set over a mature 9 holes and includes some 30 or so bunkers! The fairways are lined with mature trees and the greens offer difficult pin positions. Although there are only 9 holes, you can still play a round of 18 as you'll tee off from a different location the second time round!

Ifach San Jamie Golf Course

The Ifach Golf Club, which is also known as the San Jamie is situated in the municipal of Benissa. The course is a par 60 and has 9 holes, which range in length from 70 to 288 metres. There are lots of bunkers around this very mature course and great views of the surrounding mountains which are dotted with top end villas. The club house has a fantastic terrace which offers some stunning views of the imposing Penon or Rock de Ifach.

    From here: the entrance to the natural park is right beside the car park, enter and follow the marked walking trail around the park, through the tunnel in the rock and onto the seaward side of the Penon de Ifach for some amazing views!

    Parking: is in the large car park and is free, there are other car parking spaces in the roads around here which are marked with blue lines and are pay and display spaces.

    From here: walk towards the sea and turn left for the rebuilt castle, restaurants, marina and shopping streets, turn right for the sandy beach and shaded promenade with seating area.

    Top tip: the car park is closed on Fridays as it is the site of the market.  

El Plantio Golf Course

El Plantio Golf Course Costa Blanca North Spain

Par 72 championship Course El Plantio is, quite simply a delight. It's challenging fairways and abundant water and bunker hazards are enough to keep any level of golfer happy. The website has a great course guide, where you'll clearly see the challenges that await you. The 17th is a firm favourite with all players. El Plantio is only a few kilometres away from Alicante airport, so if you've got a late flight it is an ideal course to play!

Don Cayo Golf Course

Don Cayo Golf Club Costa Blanca North Golf Course Spain

Opened in 1974 this charming Par 36 nine hole course is situated high above the coastal town of Altea in an area known as Altea Hills. The course is very mature and fits seamlessly into the steep sides of the mountain. The views out over the Mediterranean Sea are quite simply stunning and are a good enough reason alone to play this course.

    Parking: this is the tram station. If you want to park for free use car park 1 or 2 and walk to the station or use pay car park 3 which is underneath the station.

    From here: there is only one platform which is used by the trams going north and south. Buy your tickets on the tram.

    Parking: is in any of the private car parks which line the road prior to the entrance to the park or in the public car park further along the road, there is a charge for all the car parks, it gets very congested here during high season, so take any space you can get.

    From here: follow the people to either of the two park entrances.

    Top tip: entrance charge applies (3€ per adult) to see to the waterfalls and pools, once paid you can spend as much time there as you like, there are 2 toilets and a first aid station which is manned during Easter and the summer, swimming is allowed in designated areas. They are open everyday from 09.00 until sunset.

Bonalba Golf and Spa Resort

Situated near Busot, inland from the city of Alicante, Bonalba Golf and Spa offers a great day out for the golfer and non golfer. The course is very interesting with lakes and bunkers all around. Seven holes incorporate water and along with the bunkers and technical layout of the greens you'll have lots of fun playing here. The club house has spectacular views over the golf course and is a great place to enjoy and end of round drink or two!

Alicante Golf Course

Alicante Golf Course

City centre golf best describes the location of Alicante Golf, a course which offers you an unique round! A very interesting and mature par 72 course designed by Seve Ballesteros. The fairways are lined with houses providing each hole with great definition along with lots of challenging hazards. All of this combined offer you something unusual to look at, as you enjoy your game. The complex includes a relaxing hotel, just 800 metres from San Juan beach and a fabulous clubhouse for your well deserved drink in the 19th.

    Top tip: the castle is open everyday of the week from 10.00-20.00 and both entrance and parking is free. The lift from the street level costs 2.40€ return, but is free for under 5's and pensioners. 

  • Alicante Golf Course
