Photo of the Week 29/01/2012

The photo of the week this week was taken at last years Medieval Market in Orihuela. It is reportedly the biggest market of its kind within Spain and is well worth a visit this coming week. The market will take place on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February 2012. On the Friday it will be open from late afternoon until late evening and on the weekend it will be open all day and almost all night!

There are many fascinating things to see and do in Orihuela at any time of the year. There are plenty of free museums to visit such as the Moor and Christians Reconquest Museum, the City Wal Museum, Museum of Sacred Art and the Museum of Miguel Hernandez the local Poet. The historic centre is great to stroll around and there are lots of traditional restaurants and tapas bars to enjoy.
