New Acts for Medieval Market in Orihuela
The official 'Cartel' or poster has just been released for the Medieval Market in Orihuela along with a statement about whats new for this years edition. The Medieval Market, which is said to be the biggest in Spain, will take place from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th February 2012.
The 13th edition of this market will stretch over 2 miles from the Plaza de Santiago to the College de Santo Domingo and down the side streets along the route. There will be more than 350 stalls and plenty of spaces for exhibitions. Added to this will be 20 to 30 featured workshops highlighting different trades and skills. There are nightly concerts and theatrical performances as well as jousting competitions, parades of historic and fantasy creatures and an exhibition of Birds of Prey.
New this year will be the addition of an Arab Souk theme, with decorations and articfacts from the African culture. For the first time the 18 groups or Moors and Christians will also parade as the city wants to showcase its rich hertiage and culture.
