Carnival Parades in Torrevieja

The two main parades for the 2012 Carnival in Torrevieja will take place on Sunday 12th and Saturday 18th February. These are great fun to go and watch as the participants parade along the Ramond Gallud in their ornate costumes accompanied by music. The Carnival is a very popular event, so make sure you get here early to guarantee a parking space and a place along the route of the parade.

Sunday 12th February 2012
Carnival Contest Parade
Starting Time: 16:00
Route: Starting from Plaza de Maria Asuncion along the Ramon Gallud  finishing at Calle Patricio Perez.

Saturday 18th February 2012
Carnival Parade
Starting Time: 22:00
Route: Starting from the Plaza de Maria Asuncion along Ramon Gallud finishing at Calle Patricio Perez.

There are numerous other events associated with the Carnival which officially takes place from the 21st January to the 18th February 2012. These include:

• Opening Speeches and the presentation of the Carnival Queens 21st January
• 4th Carnival Drag Queen Contest 27th January
• Carnival Murgas Contest 5th February
• Junior Carnival Ball 7th February
• Senior Carnival Ball 9th February
